We're building Tape It, an app for recording and organising your song ideas. We need your help to create something that truly matches your needs as a musician, and we'll pay you for it.
One of our main goals is helping you find that old song idea that is buried between hundreds of other recordings. You should easily be able to tell the difference between a songwriting session, your piano practice and the idea you had on the subway. One way of achieving that is to have our app detect the instruments that are playing.
To build this we need real example recordings from a variety of instruments, from as many artists as possible.
If you have lots of music recordings that you are happy to share with us for developing our app, please speak to us. We promise to keep them private and not use them for any other purposes than internal algorithm development. Compensation depends on how many recordings you share with us, but you can expect around 50€.
Any music-related recordings are welcome - be it vocals, single instruments, band practice sessions, songwriting sessions, or anything else you find yourself recording. The requirements are: it's from a music-making context, it was recorded with your phone, and you or your music group are the ones being recorded.
We'd be super grateful for your help! It will make a difference to all the musicians and songwriters out there!
Help us grow our dataset by spreading the word! If your friend's recordings make it into our dataset, we'll pay you 10€ as a little thank you for referring them.
